The serivces we provide at the Dubbo Neighbourhood Centre are below:

COMMUNITY TRANSPORT (Local and Regional) New phone number 6883 2323
Focusing on the needs of the frail aged, people with disabilities and their
carers. Transports people to medical appointments, shopping, visiting
family and friends, social outings etc.

SENIOR CITIZENS’ SOCIAL GROUP
Monday Mixer - BYO craft or handy work or have a go at something new. Also available for use are a tv, board games, cards, cd player, piano, library and computers for Seniors, or you can just come along for a cup of coffee and a chat.
We also have the occasional bus trip.

SAFE ABORIGINAL YOUTH PATROL
Operates Thursday to Saturday between 7pm and 11 pm. (School holidays -Weds & Thurs 6.30pm-10.30pm and Fri & Sat 7.30pm-11.30pm). The aim is
to safeguard people by collecting them from the streets and delivering
them safely to their home.

OUT OF SCHOOL HOURS CARE FOR CHILDREN
Safe, caring, quality and affordable After School Care and Vacation Care
for children between the ages of 5 and 12 years.

SETTLEMENT GRANTS PROGRAM
A free service providing information and help to migrants of non-English
speaking background to help settle happily in Australia.

COMMUNITY VISITORS SCHEME
Helps link people living in aged care facilities with the local community.
A community visitor befriends a resident of a facility who is at risk of
isolation and then visits them fortnightly.

HOME MODIFICATION and MAINTENANCE SCHEME
Assists people to stay in their own homes by way of home modifications
e.g. ramps, rails etc.

COMMUNITY SUPPORT WORKER AGED and DISABLED
Provides basic advocacy, referral, support and social activities to the
aged, disabled and their carers. Develops and enhances linkages
between services and groups.

CHILD, YOUTH and FAMILY SERVICE
A mediation, referral and support service for children and young people
(9-15 years) and/or their family, who are experiencing (or at risk of)
conflict and disruption within the family.

ABORIGINAL FAMILY HEALTH SERVICE
Family Violence is not part of our culture, let’s work together to remove it from our community by breaking the cycle. Some of the influences of family violence are: Low self esteem, Stress, Unemployment, Homelessness, Substance abuse, Gambling, Poor health or Inadequate housing .
